Mom, you were the best, you were always there when I needed you, always ready to go that extra mile so I could have something I needed, a ride somewhere, your last $5. I could go on and on with a list of sacrifices you made so I could grow up to be me. I tried to make you proud of me, I think most times I succeeded, I know I disappointed sometimes too, but you were always there for me anyway. I love you Mom, now and always. Gord

Phil and Family My deepest sympathies to you all. My memories of Joan are special to me. We didn't see each other often but our phone conversations kept both of us laughing and up to date. I will miss those times. She was a special lady and I loved her dearly.

To Phil and family: It was heartbreaking when I heard the news about my sister's passing. We did not see much of other after you moved to Havelock , but the love was still there. We were very close growing up and spent many hours playing with our china tea set serving each other tea and cookies. Your tea was always better than mine. Wonder what happened to the tea set? I have so many wonderful memories of my Aunt Joan, having sleep overs at "Gordies" before we spent our $5.00 at the CNE. I won't tell you about the time she washed my mouth out with soap. No really she did.

Sometimes, I come to this page to leave a message and know exactly what I want to say. I don't with your Mom. Being around Joan made her presence even stronger than what you could see and hear. She radiated warmth and that smile drew people in to her. You would have a hard time finding a person from Havelock that does not have a happy memory or a funny story to share about her. Your loss is Havelock's loss. I extend my deepest sympathies to the Babcock/Yates family, the hockey community and the students she bussed safely to school every day.
